David B. Carrier was born on 10 Aug 1842[1] and baptized on 3 Nov 1843 at South Glastonbury, Hartford, Connecticut.[2] He was the son of Isaac Carrier and Laura Webster.
On 24 July 1862, while living in Suffield, David enlisted in the 16th Regiment, Connecticut Volunteers in the American Civil War and served in Company D. He was wounded on 17 Sept 1862 at Antietam. He was later captured at Plymouth, North Carolina, on 20 April 1864 and was sent to Andersonville Prison, Georgia, where he died on 6 Aug 1864.[3][4][5] He is buried at the Andersonville National Cemetery.
The Andersonville Prisoner of War database shows the following: "Company: D; Regiment: 16; State: CT; Arm of Service: INFANTRY; Death Date: 6 Aug 1864; Cause of Death: DIARRHEA C.; Remarks: D. B.
