Biography

Everett was born in 2 April 1895[1] at Ansonia, New Haven, Connecticut.[2] or 1894.[3][4]

In 1905, Everett Jackins, a 13 year old female, lived at 114 W. 134th St., Manhattan, New York, New York, with parents James and Louise "Jockins" and a number of brothers and sisters.[5]

When he registered for the World War 1 Draft, Everett "Jaihins" said he was born in 2 April 1894 in Ansonia, Connecticut. He lived at 44 W. 135th, New York, New York, and worked as a hallman for Pease Elliman at 550 W. 153rd. He was single, and no race was specified.[3]

He served in the U.S. Army, Serial #4.150.113, during World War 1. He was inducted at LB140, NYC, New York, on 2 Aug 1918. He was born at "Ansomia," Connecticut, on 2 April 1894. he was assigned to 33rd Co 162 Dep Brig and achieved the rank of Pvt 1st Class on 9 Oct 1918. He served overseas from 20 Sept 1918 until 10 Jun 1919, and was discharged on 16 June 1919.[6]

In 1920, Everett S. Jackins, a 25 year old unskilled laborer b. Connecticut, boarded with widow Roberta Fayerman at 208 W. 133rd?, Manhattan Assembly District 13, New York, New York. He was single, and both of his parents were born in Connecticut.[7]

In 1930, Everett "Jockins," lived at 666 St. Nicholas Avenue, Manhattan, New York, New York, with his wife Marjorie, 29 b. New Jersey. He was 35 years old, born in Connecticut. He worked as a waiter on a railroad. They have been married for about 10 years. Geneva Humphries, his wife's mother, a 54 year old widow b. New Jersey, is living with them. All are black.[8]

When he registered for the World War 2 Draft in 1942, Everett B. Jackins said he was 47 years old and was born in Ansonia, Connecticut, on 2 April 1895. he lived at 3152 97th St., Corona, Queens, New York, and worked for Irving Louis at the Irwill Knitwear Corp. at 1372 Broadway in New York City. The person who would always know his address was Mrs. Marguerite JAckins of the same home address.[9]

Everett Jackins died on 22 May 1948 in New York City, Queens, New York. His residence was 31-52 97th St., Corona, Queens, New York. He was black and worked as a shipping clerk.[2] He is buried at the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA.[1]
