Augusta (Richardson-Brady) Stuart-Richardson
Henry James Viscount Stuart of Stuart Hall, Parish of Arboe, father Charles Andrew Knox, Earl of Castlestuart, married Augusta Le Viscount Massey Richardson,(widow) of Oakland House, Parish of Kildress, daughter of William Stewart Richardson-Brady, Major, on 1 November 1866 at Oaklands House, Kildress, County Tyrone, Ireland. - STUART-MASSY. November 1, by special license, at Oaklands, County Tyrone, by the Rev. Blackwood Price, cousin of the bride, assisted by the Rev. Richard Stewart, Rector of Kildress, and Rev. John Massy, Viscount Stuart, only son of the Earl and Countess of Castlestuart, of Stuart Hall, County Tyrone, to Augusta le Vicomte Massy Richardson, widow of Hugh Massy, late Major in her Majesty’s 85th Foot [2]
Newspaper accounts of her death: The death took place on Thursday evening, of the Countess of Castlestuart, at Drum Manor, Cookstown. For some time her ladyship had been in failing health. She was the only child of Major Richardson-Brady, and inherited from him what was then called the Oaklands estate and subsequently known as Drum. She first married Major Hugh Massey, of the 85th Foot and subsequently in 1866 she was married to the present (5th) Earl of Castlestuart. She leaves two daughters - Lady Muriel Close, married to Major Maxwell Close, 13th Hussars, Drumbanagher, Newry, and Lady Mary Clough-Taylor, married to Major Clough-Taylor of Firby Hall, Yorkshire. The family resided partly in Drum Manor and at Stuart Hall, the seat of the Castlestuart family. The estates, we might say, have just been sold to the tenants, with whom her Ladyship was popular, as well as with all with whom she came into contact, and perfectly filled the position which she held.
