Sir Henry Hoghton, 5th Bt. was the eldest surviving son of Sir Charles Hoghton, 4th Bt. and Mary Skeffington, da. of John Skeffington, 2nd Visct. Masserene.
He married (1), Mary Boughton, daughter of Sir William Boughton, 4th Bt. and Mary Ramsey, in October 1710,[1] (2), Elizabeth Lloyd on 14 April 1721 and (3) Susanna Butterworth, daughter of Thomas Butterworth and Frances Dukinfield, in 1737.[2]
Colonel in the service of the Militia, MP for Preston. He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Hoghton, of Hoghton Tower, and Walton le Dale, co. Lancaster [E., 1611]. With no male heirs, the title was succeeded by his nephew Henry, son of his brother Phillip.
He died 23 Feb 1768 and was buried at Preston.[3]
