Biography
Nathan was born in Vermont in 1796, the son of John or James Dennis and Martha (Adams) Dennis.[1] He married Tirzah or Terza Knapp about 1818.[2] He and Tirzah had at least four children.[3] Nathan died in 1870.[4]
Note
On his Find-a-Grave profile, Nathan's father is shown as James Dennis. The profile for James Dennis has a photo of his grave marker, which clearly shows the name James. The other sources for Nathan, however, indicate that his father's name was John. The dates and places of birth and death for John and James are identical. It's probable that John and James are the same person.
