Biography
Son of Simon Jefferds and Elizabeth Cole Jefferds of Salem,MA.[1]
He married Sarah Wheelwright on Oct 27 1727 at Wells, Maine.
"He graduated at Harvard College in 1722. When he preached at Kennebunk he was escorted in military style; several citizens of that part of the town usually going to Wells on horseback with their arms and accompanying him on his journey from his home, and also on his return. Great care was taken during his entire pastorate for his protection and comfortable support."[2]
