Elizabeth Starratt was born on 28 November 1785 in Wilmot, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, British North America. She was the eldest of six children born to George Starratt and Sarah Balcom.
Elizabeth married Robert Charlton, son of Henry Charlton Sr and Mary Crane, on 7 May 1806 in Wilmot. The couple had only one child, a daughter named Theresa.
Elizabeth died, at age 65, on 20 June 1851 and was laid to rest in Nictaux Cemetery, Nictaux, leaving her husband and daughter to mourn their loss. It was only six weeks earlier that the couple had celebrated 45 years of marriage together.

The subject of this brief notice was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs George Starratt of Wilmot. Her honored parents were amongst the first in Annapolis County to embrace spiritual truth under the evangelical administration of the revered founders of Baptist Churches in this country. In her youth, she became united in marriage to Robert Charlton of Wilmot. She leaves a husband and a daughter. August 4, 1851
