Amelia Montgomery was born about 1766, daughter of William Montgomery (1717–1788) and Anne Evatt (1740–1777).
Amelia (28) married Charles Cobbe Beresford (25) (born on October 2, 1770 in Dublin, Ireland; son of John Beresford PC and Anne Constantia (Ligondès) Beresford) on November 22, 1795. Their children were:
- Harriet Louisa Beresford (1800–1871)
- Selina Beresford (~1804–1884)
- Anna Constantia Beresford (1806–1866)
- George John Beresford (1807–1864)
