Biography
Major John Jauncey was born in 1767, the son of the Rev. Henry Fyge Jauncey and Helen White.
He married Jane Knight, the daughter of Admiral Sir John Knight.
As Captain in the 69th Foot, he fought in the Walcheren Campaign (Netherlands).
As Major in the 10th Foot, he fought in the Peninsular War (Portugal & Spain).
He died in 1796.
