"John Decoster was appointed constable for the city of Boston on 19 March 1738/9 and again on 11 March 1739/40. He was involved in many land transactions in Boston between 1724 and 1765, most of which were on Milk and Devonshire Streets. He was styled mason or bricklayer in most deeds."
