This is almost certainly the same John Bingham who was the captain of the Honourable Artillery Company, appointed in 1618 according to the Cardew-Rendle Roll of Members. He was made a Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Ironmongers' Company in order to qualify for membership of the HAC. Henry Petowe describes Bingham as a Capt of the Artillery Garden and as 'one of the Councell of Warre for this Kingdome'.
