Biography

Adelaide Susan Rosenbrook was born on 18 December 1836 in Southold, Suffolk, New York. ^[1] She was the daughter of Johann Rosenbrock (b. 1806 in Hannover, Preussen, Germany) and Eliza Ann Rice (b. 1812 in London, Middlesex, England).

In 1860 Adelaide Rosenbrook is recorded as being twenty-three years of age and living in the household of her father in Parma, Jackson county, Michigan. ^[2]

About 1861/1862 Adelaide was wed to John David Whittaker. Adelaide and John had at least six children:

2. Eliza A. Whittaker, b. 1865;
3. John Berry Whittaker, b. 1866;

Adelaide Susan Rosenbrook Whittaker died at fifty-nine years of age on 26 December 1895 in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan; ^[4] she was buried there at Maple Grove Cemetery. ^[5]
