Biography

Miles was born in 1896 in Pennsylvania, the son of Ammon Wesley Miller (1871-1944) and Eva Mae Benfer (1875-1962). He grew up on his father's farm, and he also farmed as a young man. By 1930 he had become a public school teacher.

In 1917 Miles married Mary Catherine Gross at her parents' home. The service was performed by Rev. Cole, the minister of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Berlin, Union County, PA. The children of Miles & Mary included:

1. Miles Gross Miller (1918-2001)
2. Gladys Elizabeth Miller (1920-1994)
3. Miriam Kathleen Miller (1923-?)

Miles died in 1963 at age 67 in New Berlin, Union County and was buried in New Berlin Cemetery, New Berlin, Union County, Pennsylvania, USA
