Funeral services for Mrs. Kenneth Page, 51, of Ames, a former Woodbury Co. resident, and her son, Kirk, 18, were held Tuesday afternoon at First Methodist Church at Ames with Rev. Lawrence Beals officiating. Burial was in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Page and son were killed in a two-car accident near Westside. The accident occurred when a car driven by Michael Stangl, 57, of Lincoln, Nebraska, veered across the center of the road into the path of the Page car. Mr. Stangl also lost his life in the crash. Mr. Page and another son, Don, were following in another car but were not involved in the accident. The Page family was en route to spend Christmas with Mrs. Page's mother, Mrs. Minnie Bowen at Anthon and with Mr. Page's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Page of Hinton.
Mrs. Page, the former Lulu Bowen, was born July 4, 1914, in Woodbury County. Kirk Page was born February 15, 1947, in Ames. Mrs. Page married Kenneth Page, a teacher in the Ames Public Schools. Kirk was a 1965 graduate of Ames High School and was a freshman at Iowa State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Both were members of First Methodist Church at Ames.
Mrs. Page's survivors include her husband, Kenneth, two sons, David of Muncie, Indiana, and Don at home, and her mother, Mrs. Minnie Bowen of Anthon. She was preceded by her father, Joseph Bowen and her four brothers, Paul, Ivan, Theodore and Vernon Bowen.
