The newspaper reports state that her husband worked for the The Equitable Life Insurance company in Invercargill. Ads in Paperspast mention c Watson Martin as a manager for this company in the South Island. - maybe charles watson martin^[4] Charles was registered to vote in Auckland 1890 - he is an insurance agent.^[5] Charles married Elizabeth Ann Harris in 1884 in New Zealand.^[6][7]

Charles Watson Martin notice of bankruptcy in 1886 and mentions Elizabeth Ann Martin ^[8]
