The General Register Office UK has Phillipa recorded as Phillipa Jane Richards (not Anne as has been recorded initially on her profile. Phillipa Jane Richards was born in 1870 in the March Quarter in District of Redruth, Cornwall, England. Her mother's maiden name was: Champion^[1]

In 1891 Phillipa's father John Richard, was Head, age 58, a Potato, Fruit & Vegetable Vendor, born Camborne, Cornwall, England. Wife Elizabeth Richard, age 57 born in Camborne, Cornwall, Their daughter Phillipa A Richard, an assistant in a sadler's shop, age 21, Mary J Richard, daughter, age 18, dressmaker, born Camborne, Cornwall, and son Walter E Richard, age 15, hairdresser, born Camborne, Cornwall. ^[2]

Research Notes

Phillipa's christian names have been initially recorded in the Wikitree profile as Phillpa Anne, however on the General Register Office, GRO record it is recorded as Jane, with her mother's maiden name as being Champion. I have gone with this as being correct unless other evidence can be found. Note: the 1891 shows Phillipa's name as being Phillipa A. Richard, therefore it seems she was either called Phillipa Ann, or Jane was actually incorrect and had been incorrectly recorded at the birth registration. Heneker-11 Jan 2024.
