Ida was born about 1850 in Sebago, Maine to John and Rosanna Hill. Ida Hill married Joseph Dewhurst in 1874[1]. Her husband predeceased her in 1907. She may have been born as "Mary", then changed her name to Ida[2].
Ida appeared in several articles in the Stoneham Independent, which gives a few anecdotes about her life. She enjoyed picking berries, according to an 1896 article. On August 29, 1904, her stove caught on fire, resulting in the fire department being called to her house, however her quick action put the fire out before any serious damage happened,, or worse. On April 28th, 1906, it was reported that she had received a severe shock the previous Tuesday, April 24th. This may have led to longtime damage, as her husband later ended up quitting his job at the shoe mill to care for her.
She died on 15 April 1915 in Stoneham, Massachusetts[3].
