Biography

Alice was born in 1881. She was the daughter of John, a police constable, and Maria.

She went to Beulah Junior School in Croydon, Surrey in 1888. Her address is recorded as 9 Bellevue Park. In 1890 she was admitted to Beulah Road Girls School.

In 1911 she was shorthand typist in Manchester.

In 1921 she was living in Fulham with her son John Leonard Lithgoe.

For much of her life Granny lived in Combe Martin, Devon, England emigrating to NZ about 1958.

She passed away in 1977.
