Biography
Alexander Home is a member of Clan Home.
Sir Alexander HOME, 9th Earl of HOME inherited the title from his older brother Sir William HOME 8th Earl of HOME who had no issue.
Before inheriting the title he had become a Clergyman in the Church of England.
He married Marion HOME whose parents were James of Ayton, HOME and Janet HAIG. They had one son, Sir Alexander HOME the 10th Earl. He inherited the title when he was just 17.
His eldest son, William, Lord DUNGLASS, an officer of the Coldstream Guards, was killed at the Battle of Guilford during the American Revolution, 1781, unmarried. He was succeeded by his second son, Alexander, as 10th Earl.

1st - Alexander married Primrose ELPHINSTONE by whom he had William HOME, LORD DUNGLASS and Elizabeth Eleanora HOME.
2nd - He then married Marion HOME with whom he had Sir Alexander HOME, 10th Earl of HOME.
3rd - He then married Abigail Brown RAMEY with whom he had two daughters, Caroline and Sophie Charlotte.
Alexander's brother, William, Earl of Home died in 1761 without issue, so his title passed to Alexander.
Research Notes
Old Parish Records on Scotlands people seem to disprove some of the information found on this profile. 1) only married twice 2) 2nd wife mother of Caroline who was born Nov 27 1765 and Alexander who was born Nov 11, 1769 in Coldstream. No mention of a child named Charlotte as found in this profile. ScotlandsPeople available $
