When (Didace) Joseph Henri-Didas Léger was born on November 20, 1910, in Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Onesime, was 39 and his mother, Emilienne, was 33. He married Irene Cecile Christie in 1931 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. They had one child during their marriage. He died on August 22, 1978, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, at the age of 67.
