Conyers Darcy, the 2nd surviving son of John Darcy of Hornby Castle in Yorkshire and his wife, Bridget Sutton, was born about 1685. He was educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge. Conyers was first elected to Parliament as Member for Yorkshire in 1707 in a by-election. At the general election of 1708 he was defeated.
In 1714 he married Lady Mary Bentinck daughter of Hans William Bentinck and his wife, Anne Villiers, and widow of Algernon Capell, 2nd Earl of Essex. The following year he was again elected to Parliament as member for Newark, a seat which he held for seven years then in 1722 was elected Member for Richmond. Conyers was made a Knight of the Bath on 27 May 1725. Mary Darcy died in 1726 without having borne him any children.
His second wife was Elizabeth, widow of Thomas Howard, 6th Baron Howard of Effingham. She was the daughter of John Rotheram of Much Waltham in Essex and had also been married to Sir Theophilus Napier, 5th Baronet Napier of Luton Hoo. They were married on 12 September 1728. Elizabeth died in 1741 and again there were no children.
Sir Conyers Darcy died childless on 1 December 1758.
