Oliver Plunkett, 8th Baron Louth, was b. 1668, the son of Matthew Plunkett and Jane Fitzgerald.
He was prevented from taking his seat in the Irish House of Lords on the grounds that he Had not proved the reversal of his grandfather's outlawry for rebellion in 1642, even though the grandfather had not been formally attainted. Oliver married Mabel, daughter of Viscount Barnewall of Kingsland and died in 1707 leaving two daughters (Jane, who married Darcott Talbot of Mornington, Co., Meath; and Mabel), and one son, Matthew, de sure 9th Baron Louth. [1]
According to Cracroft's Peerage, Oliver Plunkett was born in 1668. He mar. Hon Mabel Barnewall (b. c. 1673; mar. (2) as his second wife Stephen Taaffe, of Dowanstown, co. Meath; d. Oct 1710), dau. of Henry [Barnewall], 2nd Viscount Barnewall, by his second wife Lady Mary Nugent, dau. of Richard [Nugent], 1st Earl of Westmeath.[2]

Oliver died in 1707 and was succeeded by his son, Matthew.[6]
Note: He delivered his writ of summons to the Irish House of Lords on 29 Oct 1692 (the first Parliament after the "Glorious Revolution") and again on 12 Oct 1695, but was informed, 19 Oct 1698, that the 1642 outlawry of his grand-father, the 6th Baron, was not reversed, and "that such Lords who stand outlawed on record shall not have privilege to sit in this House, but ought to be struck out of the rolls of the House"[7]
