Her second marriage was to Jesse Brannon (1775–1837) they were married 18 Aug 1822 • Lewis, Virginia. As for Jesse Brannon being born in 1771 as is stated so often, this isn't correct either. We know from census records in 1820 and 1830 Lewis Co. that his birth age would be between 1802-1804.
DeWees says he is the son of Thomas and brother to Samuel Michael
Sr. He married Mary Henley Wilson and had no children that we know
of. He died about 1834 according to his will in which he names Mary and
her children and also Mary's granddaughter. He is also a brother to
John G b. 1800 m. Nancy Beall according to DeWees's description of
Thomas's grandson and great grandson in which the grandson is Sant
Brannon who was son of John G and Judge Linn Brannon who was John
G's son Marion Townsend's son. The proximity that they all lived to
each other in Gilmer Co is also telling. Also, Samuel Michael Sr.
was a Reverend and he was the first class leader of the Methodist
Episcopal Church on Cedar Creek. It was the first church organization in Central District perfected by Rev. John
Solomon. The first members were Mary, wife of Samuel Michael Sr.,
Thomas, and Jesse Brannan.[15]
