Mr Robinson. I see on Wikitree you are associated with John Enzor Chilcote. I have not found how this person fits in my tree (yet), but thought I would share an Ensor Chilcote story. A couple years ago I went to visit my cousin in Cockeysville Maryland. She is not on my Chilcote side of family but I knew I had Chilcote ancestor peeps in Maryland, so while I was there, time to do some research. She suggested that before we go out looking in the places on my list I should stop by the Baltimore county historical society that is literally right at the end of her block. I walked in and asked if they have a genealogy section. Yep. Okay I said, "I am looking for information on the Chilcote and Ensor families." The person working there replied, "You're going to have to narrow that down. We have a lot of those here." Then she showed me a picture on the wall. The building used to be the county Alms House and the last director was a Chilcote. Then she showed me an old map of the original farms in the area. The Chilcote Farm and the Ensor farm were literally right across from each other. She explained that generation after generation Chilcotes and Ensors kept marrying each other. Then I got copies of many documents. But honestly I have not figured out how they all fit together. How many times can people name their sons John Ensor or John Chilcote. And of course you have found the one that put them all together John Enzor Chilcote.

Mr. Divan contacted me and believes that Divan-15 is a duplicate of his profile. He is requesting a merge of these 2 profiles and to be put on the trusted list of Divan-15. Thanks in advance, Pam~ WikiTree.

It’s taken me a while to get to your comment on Rice-5808, but now that I have reviewed the whole family, I agree with you – I had attributed the death record as being for John Rice-5808, but that seems implausible since John Rice and his family were fairly well-to-do with decent land holdings in the Rice’s Landing area, and with other family members around. It doesn’t make sense to have him as the John Rice born in Ireland who died in the poor house the next county over. So I have deleted that link and source– it just doesn’t make sense. Otherwise the Rice family at Rice’s Landing have a clear US-based origin. Hopefully someone will be able to help identify the correct death record at some point.

Thanks for looking at these things with a critical eye!

I only wish that these people were part of my Morton. I don't recognize any names listed here. Rice Woods Morton was married at least twice and the second marriage was to a Mary Jane Throckmorton/Morton. Ida May, my grandmother, had a sister named Hester Ann Morton Elliot Colombia. Any info would be welcome. Sharon Legg Leffew 86
