Biography

Florence was the daughter of Frederick & Clara. She was the only living child. Florence was a short woman of 4 ft 11 inches. She had long black straight hair & olive skin complexion which was told to be of 1/8 part Cherokee Bloodline. Her children were 1/16 & “Indian” was listed on children’s birth certificate. One such child did receive letter from the Cherokee Reservation. Her father had very dark olive skin. Her mother was of light complexion. Florence was related to Maud Hess, whose descendants have Native American Confirmed Bloodlines. She passed away 3 weeks after her husband Edward, of a brain tumor. She was very much loved by her children. We miss her famous homemade Apple Butter. She is buried with her husband, Edward Beard & Family in Fulton Co. Pa.
