Son of Edgar C. Youngblood (1884-1974) and Alma O. Crider Youngblood (1892-1978).
Burl is a brother to 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
He married his sweetheart Dot, and they are the parents of two sons and two daughters. They made their home in Mayfield, Graves County, KY.
Burl wore many hats in his lifetime. He was the owner and operated Burl's Wrecker Service for 17 years and was a founding member of the Mayfield/Graves County Rescue Squad, serving as chief and assistant chief.
He served as a Graves County deputy coroner for 4 years and also a Graves County deputy sheriff. He was the Graves County sheriff from 1974-78 and was then re-elected for two consecutive terms; 1982-1986, 1986-1990.
Burl was an organizer of the Kentucky Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranch in Gilbertsville, Marshall Co. KY. and was the recipient of the Kentucky Sheriff of the Year award.
Burl passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was 80 years of age.
At the time of his passing, he and Dot are the grandparents of 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
