Vivian George Kennard was born on 4 April 1874. He was the son of Adam Steinmetz Kennard and Grace Ellen Hegan.[1]
He fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Dorset Yeomanry. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset in 1924.
He married, firstly, Mildred Clarke Hawkshaw, daughter of J. C. Hawkshaw, on 12 June 1900.[2]
They had children:
Roderick Vivian Kennard (b. 16 Mar 1901, d. 22 Mar 1969)
Grace Mildred Kennard (b. 27 May 1903)
Stephen John Kennard (b. 13 Aug 1904, d. 25 Dec 1987)
Noel Gerard Kennard (b. 27 Dec 1905, d. 25 Nov 1983)
He married, secondly, Mary Hamilton Broadmead, daughter of Reverend Philip Broadmead, on 23 May 1928.[3]
They had a son:
David Adam Broadmead Kennard (b. 27 Jun 1929, d. 15 Aug 1983)
He died on 22 June 1945 at age 71. At the time of his death he resided at Chilfrome House, Cattistock, Dorsetshire. His estate was worth around 7000 pounds. Probate was granted to Harold Hamilton Broadmead, farmer.[4]
