Biography

Linwood Howard was born July 4, 1874 and is the son of Daniel Marcell Howard and Frances Mary Thompson. Linwood grew up in Urbana, Maryland[1] and Darnestown, Maryland[2] along with five siblings; Daniel Floyd Howard, Zalphia Bates Howard, Catherine Howard, Brooklin Howard and Charles Berton Howard.

Linwood married Annie Florence Small December 28, 1904 and they made their home in Montgomery County, Maryland[3][4][5][6] until her death March 11, 1941. Together they raised nine children; Eleanor Virginia Howard, Carlton Linwood Howard, James Marcellus Howard, Donald Small Howard, Anna Florence Howard,[7] Kenneth Hamill Howard, Spencer Ringer Howard, Julian Broschart Howard and Daniel Francis Howard. Linwood died November 15, 1958 and is buried in Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg, Maryland.[8]
