Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I have done a lot of research and found some errors in publications relating to the name of John Kent in the colonies of the 1600s. I have documented those errors on my website at: https://jhanrahan.weebly.com/ Please scroll down the opening page to "Kent Errors" and you will find the documentation I have written on the names and families associated with the errors of two John Kents. One was born in 1645 in the colonies, and the other arrived in 1645 and was born in England. Folks are posting these findings in error.

John Kent born about 1633 in England arrived on the ship Increase in 1645. He married Hannah Grizwold. They lived in Dedham & Charleston, Massachusetts. His parents are unknown at this time.

John Kent was born in 1645 in Newbury, Essex, Ma. He married Sarah Woodman. They lived and died in Newbury. His parents are Richard Kent (England to the colonies in 1634) His 1st wife died in England, He married Emma Short/Shorte who is the mother of this John Kent.
