Biography

His last name was Booth[1][2] In October 1578, Queen Elizabeth ordered an account of all her subjects in Cheshire who were liable for supplying troops and supplies for defense of the country. "Sir Willm Boothe, Knighte" was assessed for "One dimilance, one Lighte horsse, three Corslette, two Allmaine Ryvette, three Archers, and two Calyvers," all of which he furnished.[3]

William Booth, of Twemlow Hall, co. Chester married Ellen Davenport, daughter of John Davenport, of Woodford, co. Chester, William was the 2nd son of Edward Booth by his second wife Mary Knutsford[4]
