Biography

Ebeneezer, son of Benjamin Wood, was born September 19, 1726 in Dracut, Massachusetts. He was the son of Benjamin Wood (1689-1755) and Eleanor (Davis) Wood (1694-).^[1]

His intentions to marry Sarah (Butman) Wood (1731-) of Tewksbury were published January 26, 1750.^[2] No record of the actual date of his marriage to Sarah Boatman appears to have survived, but she is recorded as his wife and mother of five children:

1. Jonathan (1753-1756)
2. Ebenezer (April 21, 1754-April 5, 1832)
3. Edward (born July 27, 1756)
4. Sarah (born October 18, 1758)
5. Judah (or "Judith", born April 21, 1762)

Ebeneezer is listed in the first national census, in 1790, as living in Tewkesbury, Massachusetts, one of the towns near Dracut. His absence from the next census in 1800 probably means that he died in the interim. ^[3]
