1. ) Hempstead Diary; Page 370: Nov 1740: Wensd 26, Cloudy and some rain. I was at Court all Day with Cunz Jabez Hide to Assist Justice Huntington & I lodged at brother Edgcumbs. Expenses none. my Horse at Samll Posts. Lt. Sam Backus buried. Died with the measles yesterday or the night before.
