Biography
Ray was born in 1911. He is the son of Lewen Ansel and Bertha Caroline (Lea) Jacobs. He passed away in 2006.[1]
Obituary
- Ray L. Jacobs, age 95, of Ooltewah, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in a local health care facility.
- Mr. Jacobs had lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 31 years. He was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church and its Sanctuary Sabbath School Class. Ray had 38 years of overseas mission service in Cuba, Peru, Lebanon, and Haiti. He retired in 1975 as secretary of the Afro-Mideast Division of the Seventh-day Adventist church-based in Beirut, Lebanon.
- He was the son of the late Solon [Lewen] and Bertha Jacobs.
- Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Mabel Jacobs in October of this year.
- He is survived by his sons, Dennis Jacobs of Ft. Collins, Co., and Roger (Judy Lopez) Jacobs of Bowie, Md.; grandsons, Raymond Jacobs of Bowie, MDd.,and Michael Jacobs of Ft. Collins, Co.; four great-grandchildren; nephews, Bruce Jacobs, David Beardsley, Lloyd Ray Jacobs, Frank Lea Jacobs; niece, Julie Jacobs Fuller. [The Chattanoogan, December 16, 2006]
