Mary Villiers was daughter of Edward Villiers, Earl of Jersey [1]and his wife, Barbara Chiffinch. [2]
She married Thomas Thynne, son of Henry Frederick Thynne and his wife, Dorothy Philips.[2] Thomas Thynne died in April 1710, leaving Mary 8 months pregnant. The baby whom she called Thomas was born on the 21st of May. [3]
On 15 December 1711 at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster she married her second husband, George Granville, [1] [4] son of Bernard Grenville and his wife, Anne Morley. George and Mary were parents of 4 daughters.[1] Only a couple of weeks later, on 1 January 1712 George was created Baron Lansdown.[1]
Mary passed away 17 January 1735. [2]
