1607 born in Bükkös. Attempted to bring Transylvania under the Hungarian crown. Elected Prince of Transylvania in 1660 with the help of Austrian forces. In a conflict with pro-Turkish/anti-Austrian factions he was killed in a battle at Nagyszőlős in 1662.
