Biography

3rd of Guthrie The date for birth for Alexander Guthrie is a very rough estimate. He was presumably born before his father, David Guthrie, Younger of Guthrie, and his grandfather Sir Alexander Guthrie, 2nd Baron of Guthrie were killed at the Battle of Flodden Field, Branxton, Northumberland, England on 09 September 1513. [1]

He was the son of David Guthrie, younger of Guthrie and an unknown daughter of Ferquhard Mackintosh, 12th of Mackintosh and Jill Fraser.[2]

He succeeded as 3rd Baron of Guthrie on 09 September 1513. [3]

He married Christian, daughter of Gardyne of Gardyne, and by her had a son, who succeeded. [4]

Alexander Guthrie, 3rd Baron of Guthrie is mentioned on 31st August, 1558. (H. of C. of S., 531.) [5]
