In 1920, Emory lived in Narsices, Cottle, TX with his parents, Emory and Mae. He had a sister, Eva L., age <1.[2]
In 1930, Emory lived in Plainview, Hale, TX with his parents and siblings Eva L (10) and Emory B (12)[3]
On 15 Mar 1934, while driving with 4 classmates to a picnic, Emory ran his car off a bridge and died 3 hours later from injuries suffered. He was the only fatality. He is buried in Gould Cemetery.[4]

Wreck Fatal to Emery Brownlow
Emory Brownlow, 16 year old son of Rev. and Mrs. E.V. Brownlow of Gould, died Thursday night, March 15, from injuries received in a car wreck east of Gould, and four other occupants of the car were injured.
The boys and girls were starting on a picnic whe the accident occured. Others in the car were Elizabeth Harper, M.G. Duvall, Woodrow Strickland, all of whom received severe bruises and lacerations but none serious enough to prove fatal.
The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. on the detour of Highway 62 just east of Gould,. The car overturned when Brownlee failed to get all of the car on a bridge.
Brownlow lived for about three hours after the accident.
All are students in the Gould high school. Brownlow being a member of the junior class. Funeral services were held at the Gould Baptist Church.
The car, which belonged to Rev. Browlow, was completely wrecked. Brownlow was born in Antiioch community near Eldorado. During the past several year they have resided in Gould, where Rev Browlow is pastor of the First Baptist church.
