Biography
Mary was the daughter of Montagu Wilmot of Norton House, Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales.[1] She was baptised at the British Chapel in Boulogne, France on 29 September 1842, with her parents named as Montagu and Frances Frederica Wilmot.[2]
She wrote a diary from 1852 to 1859. A transcript can be found here (accessed 28 June 2022).
In 1860 Mary married George John Cayley at St Paul's, Sketty, Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales.[1] The parish register names her father as Montagu.[3][4][5] The marriage was registered in the Swansea district of Glamorganshire, Wales in the 3rd quarter of that year.[6]
The 1861 census lists Mary Anne in Westminster, age 18, born France.[7]
George John Cayley died in 1878.[1] In 1888 Mary married Baron Emile de Royer.[8]
She passed away in 1908.[8]
