Biography

Thomas was the son of Dr Thomas Kingsbury and Esther Punter.

He was educated by Dr Dunkin and entered Trinity College Dublin. It should be noted that the entrance date on the T.C.D. alumni register of 23 April 1717 is incorrect. It is inconsistent with his possible birth date. B.A. 1752, LL.B and LL.D 1782. ^[1]

Admitted as a student to King's Inn in 1751 and admitted to the degree of Barrister at King's Inn in 1758. Irish Bar 1758.

From Falkner's Dublin Journal, Tues., 25 June 1765 - Sat., 29 June 1765, Marriages:

"On Wednesday, Thomas KINGSBURY, Esq; Counsellor at Law, to Miss BURSTON."

He died in 1805. ^[3]

Research Notes

He was not, as some sources suggest, the Vicar of Kildare. This may be a confusion with his son Reverend Thomas Kingsbury, who was in 1805, the Vicar of Kilberry in the Diocese of Dublin and County of Kildare. He had been Vicar there from 1801^{[4] [5]}
