Biography

Charles Alexander Brinkley, 86, passed away July 27, 2016 in Humble, Texas. He was born October 3, 1929 to parents Jess and Vera Brinkley in Moody, Texas. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a geologist and earned his Masters degree from Penn State. He married the love of his life, Patrician Ann on January 13, 1996 in Kingwood, Texas. He also became a father and grandfather with his marriage to Patricia, which he cherished and treasured his role. Charles and Patricia enjoyed spending time together with their church family with bible study and playing in the dominoes group. Charles was known at church for his dedication to bible study as he would share detailed notes that he made of each session. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie. Charles is lovingly survived by his wife, Patricia A. Brinkley; sister, Donnie Sayen and husband Charlie; step-children, Perry McCluney and wife Kimberly, Paul McCluney and wife Michele, Pam Halford and husband Sonny; grandchildren, Krista Halford, Jessica Halford Prescott and husband Jeffrey, Lisa Halford, Macy McCluney, Remy McCluney, Connor McCluney; great-grandson, Hunter Prescott; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday, August 1, 2016 at Second Baptist Church of Kingwood, 22770 Hwy 59N, Kingwood, Texas 77339. Friends are welcome to join the family at 11:00 a.m. for a time of fellowship at the church before the service. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Spike Harlin, Buck Miller, Tom Evans, Fred Frey, Darren Brimberry, and Sean Brimberry.
