Biography
Jacob was born in April 1791, a son of Jacob Maurer (1761–1827) and Eve M. Hornecker (1768–1860).[1]
He married Maria Polly Hilbish (1793–1861). Their children included:
- John Maurer (1816–1880)
- Sarah Salome Maurer Knaus (1817–1861)
- Hannah Maurer Zieber (1818–1892)
- Samuel J. Maurer (1822–1893)
- Maria Polly Maurer Benfer (1823–1897)
- Daniel Maurer (1826–1899)
- Jacob Maurer (1828–1900)
- Peter H. Maurer (1832–1910)
He passed away age age 72 in September 1863 and was buried in New Berlin Cemetery, New Berlin, Union County, Pennsylvania.[2]
