Biography

Alex was Lakota.

Alex Zimmerman was born in 1904. While identified as "Sioux" on two patients list (see below), his original residence of Cheyenne Reservation, South Dakota would place him in one of the Lakota tribes.[1]

He is listed in the 1921 and 1924 lists of patients at the Canton Asylum for Insane Indians. [2]

It is unknown when he passed away. His profile is part of the The Canton Asylum One Place Study.
