Biography

Sue Parkey Rosenbalm, Kingsport, TN and formally from Ewing, VA, entered into her heavenly home on Friday, June 21, 2013.

She was born May 26, 1930 at Ewing, VA, the daughter of the late Ikey Parkey and Gladys Noe Parkey. Mrs. Rosenbalm was a member of the Rose Hill Christian Church and was retired from the educational system in Lee County, having taught school at Thomas Walker High School, a counselor and principal at the Lee County Career and Technical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle P. Rosenbalm, and son, Stephen Rosenbalm.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Dwight Stiles; two nieces: Susan (Darrell) Cope and Tina (George) Montgomery; six great nieces and nephews, and seven great - great nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of friends, church family and three wonderful caretakers: Geraldine Folden, Freda Salyers, and Rhonda Sands.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the Robinette Funeral Home in Rose Hill, VA with services in the chapel at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Bryan Gunter officiating. Music will be provided by Betty Smith. Burial will follow the services at the Ewing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rose Hill Christian Church or the Sue P. Rosenbalm Scholarship Fund at Union College.
