Biography
Born in South Walden, Vermont in 1821. Married first Jeanette Webster Vance, and they had two chlldren. They were living in Vermont in 1850,[1] and had moved to Boston by 1855.[2] Jeanette died in 1864, and he married second Elizabeth Tolman (Hall) Howe, widow of John Hawes Howe in 1865.[3]
