Biography

Daughter of James Scutt Dwight of Springfield, Massachusetts, described by Abram Foote as "a prominent merchant for many years on the corner of State and Main Streets, doing a general merchandise business, having six branch stores in the country, owning a line of boats on the river, and a distiller of good old New England rum and gin under the hill (Armory) nearby. He had a large family, all of whom were prominent in business and professions one way and another." ^[1] Buried in Springfield Cemetery, Sweet Briar Path North 591, per Find A Grave.

Note: Yes, Delia's middle name was actually "Scutt", it was her father's middle name and apparently an ancestral name. Kindly do not edit to "Scott".
