Biography
Mary was born in 1819 to Titus and Lucy (Fletcher) Kellogg. She was one of the first group of four to be admitted to a college in the United States. Because her Fathers business failed, she never graduated, as the family moved to a frontier area of Louisiana. James Fairchild, who knew her in college when they were both students at Oberlin College, went down south and married her in 1841. They had six children. She passed away in 1890.
