Also in 1901, Vito moves in with his sister, Francesca, and brother in law Salvatore Armato, in their apartment on 103rd Street in New York. Vito is arrested the following year.[2]

Maria Audenzia dies 10 October 1918, according to her grave marker, and the civil record of her death. Her parents’ names are recorded as Salvatore Armato and Francesca Cassa. Her marital status is not recorded, though her married name is included in the record of her death in the Bronx at age 41.[7] Nicolo' and Maria are both buried with their father.
Salvatore dies at age 74 (b. 1848) on 11 June 1922 at 485 E. 175th St., Bronx. Salvatore is the son of Nicola Armato and Marie Chiaco, and husband of Francis Armato. This record gives his birth date as 8 May 1848. He is buried in St. Raymond’s Cemetery on 12 June.[8]
