Ralph was born about 1460, probably in Yorkshire where his parents lived. He was the son of Robert Wycliffe and Margery Conyers.[1][2]
Ralph married Anne Bowes, daughter of William Bowes of Streatlam, Yorkshire.[1][2] They had the following children:
In the period 1504-15 Ralph (described as of Wycliffe [in Yorkshire]) sued Margaret Carr, wife of George Carr deceased of Newcastle and administrator of George's estate, over property promised to Ralph's daughter Elizabeth on her marriage to Margaret's son George.[3]
Ralph died on 10 November 1535. An Inquisition Post Mortem was held on 25 October 1539.[1][4]
After his death, his daughter Agnes, Agnes's husband Anthony Brackenbury, and Ralph’s grandson Ralph Carr filed a lawsuit against Robert Colt, clerk, about the alleged forgery of Ralph's will, "disposing of the manors of Ellerton and Ordbrough, with their appurtenances in Downholme and 'Seynt John Kyrke'."[5]
