Biography

Margaret, daughter of Donald Cattanach, was born on 27 Mar 1848 in Laggan, Canada West (Ontario).^[1]

She married Malcolm Alexander MacLean. Their children were:

• Ethelwin Kate MacLean, born on 25 December 1873 (in Dundas, Ontario)^[2][3]
• Alexandra Isabel Ross MacLean, born on 30 Mar 1877 (in Toronto, York, Ontario)^[4][5]
• Constance Mary MacLean, born about 1880 (in Manitoba)^[6]
• Duart Cluny Cattanach MacLean, born on 10 Jun 1885 (in Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan)^[7][8][9]
• Malcolm Mackenzie Gordan MacLean, born on 29 Aug 1890 (in Vancouver, British Columbia).^[10][11]

In 1881, their family was living in Winnipeg, Selkirk, Manitoba; Malcolm was a wholesale merchant.^[12]

In 1891, their family was living in Vancouver, British Columbia; Malcolm was working as a real estate broker.^[13] Malcolm also served as Vancouver's first mayor.

Her husband, Malcolm died on on 4 April 1895.^[14] In 1901, their family was living in Vancouver city, Burrard, British Columbia.^[15]

In 1911, Margaret (62 and widowed) was living with her children at 883 Broughton in Vancouver, British Columbia.^[16]

Margaret died (age 86) on 4 July 1934 in Vancouver, British Columbia.^[1]

Margaret was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver, British Columbia^[17]
