Biography

Lydia Maria Norton was born in 1793^[1] to Winthrop Burnham Norton^[2] and Dorothy Gowell in Berwick, District of Maine.^[3]

On 2 November 1816 in Boston, Lydia and Samuel Spring, then of Boston, published their intentions to marry,^[4] and on 27 November they were married in Berwick.^[5]

Lydia died 19 September 1881 in East Hartford, where Samuel had for many years been minister of the First Congregational Church.^[2]
